Playing Pai Gow Poker off Vegas Technology
Software Platform
About Vegas Technology
The company that we recognize today as Vegas Technology in fact started
out as OddsOn Gaming at the end of the 1990s, as one of the first online
casino software providers in the industry. Some of the very first
online casinos in the market were so enamored with this company’s
software, that requests quickly poured in to create customized casino
games for many of them. The rest, as they say, is history.
The original software used by OddsOn Gaming was in a simple downloadable
Java format but it soon improved on this method by switching to
downloadable scripting software by Microsoft C++. The front end of this
company’s software still uses this type of scripting, while its back
office uses a browser-based Java scripted language program.
As OddsOn Gaming’s reputation grew, its software was purchased by some
of the best online casinos in the industry. These included sites such
as English Harbour and the very popular Super Slots. Because the
company’s software was linked with some of the most well-established and
reliable online casinos in the industry, OddsOn Gaming soon earned
itself a place in the top echelons of the gambling world.
A dramatic move in 2005 saw a ‘new company’ effectively taking over all
the Oddson Gaming software that was being provided to top-brand online
casinos. The same people who created OddsOn games decided to recreate
their whole concept from scratch and thus introduced a new name for
their software – Vegas Technology. The new product did not disappoint
and the industry soon witnessed software that was bolder, sharper and
trendier than its predecessor. So much so that in that same year,
Gambling Online Magazine presented the new Vegas Technology software
with the Top New Casino Software Award.
Vegas Technology has built itself an impressive portfolio of close to
100 games. The company is mostly recognized for its awesome
presentation of slot games, with special features such as 7-Reel Slot
games and simple Multi Line slot games, as well as being synonymous with
slot tournaments. Slots, however, are not the only type of games that
Vegas Technology produce and their card and table games are just as
popular with gamblers. Craps, baccarat, Pai Gow poker and others are
firm favorites with players from around the globe.
Playing Pow Gow Poker with Vegas
Technology Software
Vegas Technology’s version of Pai Gow is considered an interesting and
exciting variation of poker where the object is to beat the dealer’s
hand. A player is dealt seven cards and needs to split them in the
best way possible into two hands – a two-card hand and five-card hand.
Players can also wager a side bet called the Fortune Bet.
Players can place two bets in this game of Pai Gow poker. The first is
a forced (mandatory or ante) bet and players can choose the amount by
considering their bankroll and checking out the minimum and maximum bets
displayed in the information section on the screen. Players can also
choose the optional side bet which requires a five hand straight (and
above) to pay out. This bet is based on the full seven-card hand and
is paid out separately to the forced bet. In theory, this bet allows
players to win up to 8000 times their original bet (by obtaining a
natural 7 card straight flush). The easiest bet (2:1) is a straight.
In Vegas Technology Pai Gow poker, the dealer (house) deals the cards
and players then arrange the cards so that the higher hand gets ranked
better than the lower hand. The game also has a feature that will
arrange the cards automatically for players based on some basic game
principles. This is the closest that players will get to the option
found at traditional casinos to request assistance from the dealer on
possible moves in the game.
Vegas Technology Pai Gow poker uses a deck of 52 cards and one joker
that is treated like an ace except to make a straight, a flush or a
straight flush.
After the dealer’s and the gambler’s cards are revealed and the winner
is determined, winnings are paid out minus a 5% commission to the
house. This is a relatively standard rate across the online casino
industry and is not particular to Vegas Technology’s version of Pai Gow
poker.
Players could ultimately improve their game strategy and skill level of
Pai Gow poker by trying out the free game software available at most
online casinos powered by Vegas Technology. In addition, they can enjoy
the downloadable software version of the game or play Pai Gow off the
browser for added versatility. |
